Is it better to repair, upgrade, or replace my computer?
This is a difficult question because it depends on the circumstances. Generally, a computer is worth repairing if it's under six years old, or if it was an expensive machine, potentially up to eight years old. We typically recommend replacement for machines older than eight years because we don't want you to waste money. However, there are situations where someone may choose to keep a machine for much longer due to its specialized function, which might be difficult or impossible to replace. When we visit your home or office, we'll assess your hardware and provide advice on whether to repair or replace it. The final decision is always yours, and we'll strive to get you the best value, whether you choose to repair or replace. We will always look for the best value for your dollar to ensure we stay within your budget.
I'm running very old versions of software Can you guarantee that the new computer you provide me will be able to handle the old version of those programs.
Unfortunately, no. We will try to get your older software versions working, but often it's not possible, and you may need to update. However, we'll always offer a free alternative if one exists. We have a wide library of open-source tools that are often just as good, or even better, than retail software. You don't have to spend a lot to stay functional.
What is the best brand of computer?
This is another of those very subjective questions that in my experience rapidly shifts both over and in consideration of budget. If one were to buy the cheapest version of any machine in any retail store it is my belief that they would get a crappy computer. If they spend a moderate amount of money on a quality machine it will last them the same length of time whether it is a Dell, an HP, Or even an apple. One of the reasons that we so highly recommend shopping services is to help you find the best value for your dollar Simply looking at brand is not enough. There are so many factors to consider that only an industry expert can genuinely keep up with them.
